…and we’re back!

Actually we haven’t left but you did. OK well maybe we snuck away here and there for some nice R&R but now there is no denying it – the semester has begun. We’ve been busy here in our down time getting ready for the whirlwind that is September and October and we know you’ve been busy too. We got to keep up with two BPIP Internship Fund recipients adventures in India and the Philippines on their blogs (talk about living vicariously through others), and can’t wait to see the pictures from everyone else. We saw from our internship survey that […]

Hi! We’re the Career Center, nice to meet you.

Hey there! I know it’s a little early in our relationship right  now and I don’t want to scare you off I just wanted to say “Hi!” Many students don’t fully discover the amazing resources available to them through the career center until it’s too late and we often hear, “I wish I would have come sooner.” We don’t want that to be you. I’m not saying you need to come in now but I am saying it’s better if you don’t want until second semester senior year. But here’s what you’re going to want to know – we are […]

Monday Humor: The Most Ridiculous Job Titles

Pilot Inspektor? Oh wait no…that’s Jason Lee’s kid’s name… OK so from MediaBistro.com‘s MediaJobsDaily blog here’s a fun article about ridiculous job titles (if you couldn’t tell from the title of this post…) Are these job titles the most ridiculous you’ve heard? Our favorites: Web Alchemist, Ant Colony Foreman(????), Social Media Swami, Public Happy Maker. Now we recall that Fast Company says that people with weird titles have a “sense of ownership of, engagement with, and excitement about their jobs.” But what on earth does an ant colony foreman do? Sam Fiorella, who wrote the article that appeared on PR […]

Networking for Introverts

If you know who I am then you know I am not an introvert, but sometimes when I’m uncomfortable or nervous I revert to one. That’s why when I came across this great article on the Simply Hired Blog I had to share it.  Introvert or not, this article offers great advice on, the often elusive term, “networking.” And we all know practice makes perfect so after you read the article practice your skills at one of our summer networking events, happening in select cities. Networking for Introverts By Tess Gellerman For introverts, “networking” is a four letter word. It […]

Become the Bucknell Intern Queen or King!

The Intern Queen, also known as Lauren Berger, came to campus in February of 2010 to give a great talk about – you guessed it – internships! On top of working for someone who is young and fun this is also a great resume builder and chance to gain some valuable experience from your dorm! So I ask you, do you wanna be an Intern Queen Campus Ambassador? Here’s what Laurent posted […]
