Actually we haven’t left but you did. OK well maybe we snuck away here and there for some nice R&R but now there is no denying it – the semester has begun.
We’ve been busy here in our down time getting ready for the whirlwind that is September and October and we know you’ve been busy too. We got to keep up with two BPIP Internship Fund recipients adventures in India and the Philippines on their blogs (talk about living vicariously through others), and can’t wait to see the pictures from everyone else.
We saw from our internship survey that many of you were busy busy at some amazing opportunities at place like: Groupon, Under Armour, United States House of Representatives Frank Wolf, Congressman Chris Murphy, Ogilvy & Mather and so many other places! We’d love to hear from more of you on your summer experiences. Did you have something to say about your internship or summer experience? Tell us and the world (or just Bucknell…) by being one of our Internship Spotlights! You never know – the visibility may help get you the job… (disclaimer: this is not a guarantee). Remember to stay connected even though your internship may be done; it’s all about connections, connections, connections!
We planned for Expo – yeah I’m talking career fairs already so best be ready to break out that suit and work the room. We’ll have resumania and prep sessions to make sure you are prepared. Check out our calendar and save the dates…it’s gonna be rockin’.
Oh and speaking of which – you better make it a priority to jump on that LinkedIn bandwagon – there have been a ton of student-friendly profile updates lately. We’ve posted lots of information, tips, and resources from basic to advance or you can stop by our office and we can help you in person (imagine that?!) – so no excuses.
- First Years – welcome!
- Sophomores – it’s time to start thinking about Externships!
- Juniors – studying abroad? Make sure to pack “Finding an Internship While Studying Abroad“
- Seniors – it’s about to get real…don’t wait until February to come see us; we can help you and try to mitigate your stress levels (and your parents)
We did all of this and I still had time to find a giant duck!
I’d say that it was one great summer.
And now we are happy to have you back so make sure to stop in and see us…ask me about the giant duck house…we’re nice I swear!
P.S. Oh and save the date for a NEW workshop this year on managing your online reputation (Nov. 8th) where you will also get professional photographs that you can us in that LinkedIn profile I know you’re going to sign up for – details, as always, are on the BRIDGE.
