We’ve got another great field trip on October 21st for you centering around sustainability. I know what you are thinking, “Tastykake and Hershey for sustainability?” But we are serious. Did you know that Tastykake is a green bakery? Tastykake took what started as an abandoned industrial site and earned it LEED Silver Certification. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and it is awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED is a rating system for green buildings. The Capitol Hill Internship Program is a competitive summer internship program that provides a stipend of $300 per week up to $3,000 for students able to secure a Capitol Hill internship provided the internship is unpaid and not for academic credit. Boston Area Field Trip: Monday, October 13, 2014 (during fall break), Sign up on the BRIDGE by October 7 We will start the day at EMC’s World Headquarters in Hopkinton. EMC is a global leader in enabling businesses and service providers to transform their operations and deliver information technology as a service. Operation Smile along with the Pre-Health Society and Bucknell Business Leaders, are hosting Dr. Bill Magee, the Founder and CEO of the global non-profit organization, Operation Smile. Operation Smile funds and performs facial deformity surgeries across the globe. The organization has performed over 200,000 cleft lip and cleft palate surgeries in over 60 countries.
