How to sign up for an event on the BRIDGE

We’ve been ending a lot of our posts with “sign up on the BRIDGE,” lately and I just wanted to take a minute to make sure everyone knows how to do it. It may seem difficult at first but once you get the hang of it signing up for an event on the BRIDGE is super easy…especially since if you are signed in to myBucknell you can access the BRIDGE without signing in again.

OK so let’s say just got an email about our “Are You LinkedIn?” workshop on October 18th…here’s how you sign up:

  1. Sign into the BRIDGE
  2. Mouse over the “Calendar” tab and then click on “Career Center Calendar”
    1. You will see today’s events
    2. On the right you will see a calendar of the month and a drop down menu to “view another month”
  3. If you know the date of the event  (like October 18th) it’s easy! Just go to the date of the event (not the RSVP date) and the event should show up
  4. To sign up, click on the title of the event, in this case it says “Are You Linkedin?”
  5. Once you’ve selected the event you will see the description, more details and a box on the right with “Sign up information”
  6. Click “Signup” on the bottom of the box on the right hand side and you are all set.
  7. Next step…mark it on your calendar and we’ll see you in Taylor 203 to help build your LinkedIn profiles!

Like I said, I know you glance at this and think, “7 steps?” but when you actually go through the process you will see it’s not really a process at all. I was trying to be very thorough.

Here are a few more tips for the calendar:

  • If you don’t know the name of the event you can go to “Calendar Search” (still under the calendar tab)
  • Here you can search 2 different ways
    • By Event Type:
      • You will find a drop down menu of event types that should be fairly obvious (but not always!) so you may have to try a few.
      • Example names include: Alumni Presentation, Career Fair, Panel, Pre-Law Program
    • By Employer Name
      • For instance Johnson & Johnson (here today!)
      • I typed in “Johnson & Johnson” and the employer comes up (for the most part you can use partial employer names but sometimes you need to try different ways, for instance “Johnson and Johnson” didn’t return the results, I had to type in “Johnson &  Johnson”)
      • Click on Johnson &  Johnson
      • On this page you will see 4 links right below the company name: Overview, Jobs, Events, Contacts
      • Click on “Events” and you will see they are here today (10/3) for an info session
      • Click on the event title (in this case “Johnson & Johnson Info Session ” and you will be at Step 5 on the above list
