Follow directions when applying for opportunities…

We recently learned from an employer who was advertising an opportunity on the BRIDGE that only 1 of 7 Bucknell students who applied for his organizations job opportunity followed the 3 steps required for the position, which were outlined on the BRIDGE job description.  His take on this was that if students are not able to follow directions in the application process then how will he feel confident that they will follow directions well on the job.  To him it was an indicator of work ethic and follow through.  You can’t really argue with that logic.  The job market is competitive enough – don’t be eliminated from consideration simply because you don’t follow instructions as outlined.
