Today when I perused the BRIDGE, I could not help but let my biases run rampant. One of the internships that I would like to highlight this week will be McGladrey Assurance, Tax, and Consulting. This internship is offered in New York, New York, Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., and Boston, Massachusetts. I will be the first one to advocate for you to apply for this opportunity, because I have experienced what this firm has to offer first hand. I shadowed at their Vienna office this past summer, and absolutely loved the great sense of an active, social community yet hard work ethic that presents itself in the conglomerate of cubicles. Not only are the people willing to teach you patiently about the in’s and out’s of the company, but they also helped show the rapport between what accounting students learn in the classroom to the tasks they perform on a daily basis.
As noted on their website, McGladrey “is the largest U.S. provider of assurance, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market, with nearly 6,700 people in more than 75 cities nationwide. McGladrey is a licensed CPA firm.” McGladrey also was named to 2013 Working Mother 100 Best Companies List.
If you are interested in working with large and small companies in several different industries and building strong working relationships with clients, McGladrey is the place for you. As for my second pick, there is an application due on the same day for Entercome Communications. For those interested in checking out the arts and entertainment, communications, media, or broadcasting industries, Entercome Communications to put into play his or her creativity. Entercom Wilkes-Barre/Scranton offers an opportunity for students to apply classroom theory to practical work experience. The internship program lets students to integrate themselves in the world of working in the radio broadcasting industry. The internship would be a 12-15 hour commitment per week, and all interns must be enrolled in a college or university and receiving college credit. There are available positions in the following departments: Promotions, Programming, Production, Digital (Web), Sales, IT, Engineering & Business Office. While this internship is not paid, you could be spending time in the very place where the Office was filmed! Do not forget to apply to this Broadcasting Internship!
