On October 2nd Liz and Ryan took us through a day in the life as a self-employed Photography Team and gave us a glimpse of how much fun they have while living their dream jobs – you can catch the story here.
Elizabeth ’07 and Ryan Bower ‘06 are a husband and wife photography team and dream seeking entrepreneurs. Upon graduating from Bucknell, Elizabeth and Ryan moved to Baltimore, MD to pursue well-paying corporate jobs and start “real life.” Ryan worked as an Electrical Engineer at an Aerospace and Defense Contractor while Elizabeth worked as a Development Officer for a world-renowned hospital. After several years of the typical 9 to 5 job, they realized they wanted something more. They wanted to do something on a daily basis that would make an impact on peoples lives and would make them truly happy. On New Year’s Day 2009, while enjoying coffee at their favorite coffee shop, Elizabeth and Ryan decided to make a change in their lives. They decided it was the time to take their passion of entrepreneurialism and photography to the next level and start their own business. A few hours later, Elizabeth Ryan Photography was born. Since that New Years Day, Elizabeth and Ryan have chosen a path of non-conformity. They both have left their corporate jobs to build Elizabeth Ryan Photography into full time professions. In the three years since the start of their business, Elizabeth and Ryan have photographed over 50 weddings, have been featured in multiple online and print publications including The Knot Magazine, Southern Weddings, and Baltimore Bride, and have received The Wedding Wire’s Bride Choice Award three times as well as The Knot’s Best of Weddings Award twice. In September, Elizabeth and Ryan launched a new website (http://www.lizandryan.com) and rebranded Elizabeth Ryan Photography to become Liz and Ryan. In addition to photography, their new website and brand has allowed Liz and Ryan to share lifestyle inspiration to help people live a more AMAZING life.
