Pioneering Teacher Prep in DC Area

The Urban Teacher Center (UTC) is a four-year, alternative teacher preparation program that operates in the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. region.  Each cohort participates in an intensive year-long residency, followed by a three-year teaching commitment in a high-need urban elementary or middle school. UTC’s residents will be fully prepared to become highly competent teachers; in addition to the clinical experience, residents also enroll in a Master’s of Education program that is directly relevant to the urban teacher. Teach in Delaware Day and Project Search are Education job fairs sponsored by the University of Delaware BoA Career Services Center and the University Council on Teacher Education (UCTE). Both events will bring recruiters to campus to meet and interview prospective teachers, counselors, administrators and specialists for Fall 2010 vacancies.
