Please take 2 minutes to complete the Externship Survey The Externship Program is a short term day (usually 2 day) job shadow program you can apply to participate in over winter break during your sophomore year. Your answers in this survey will to give the CDC an idea of the locations and industries of student interest for externships. Who would you like to shadow: a pharmacist, engineer, artist, sales manager, investment banker, surgeon, fashion associate, etc.? The Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic: A Personal Testimonial – Lisanna Gonzalez

Tuesday, March  30 @ 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. Coleman 120 Lisanna Gonzalez spent two years in the Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic (2004-2006).  Her presentation will share her experience working with two other Peace Corps volunteers in the community of Gualate located in the mountains of the Northern Province of Puerta Plata.  The focus of this work was on: bringing clean water to the community, improving public health, health education for women and youth (HIV/AIDS, STD’s), women’s self-esteem and empowerment, environmental sustainability, and creating a micro-credit bank. BPIP! No, I did not hiccup

Students who want to explore careers in the non-profit and government sectors have a great resource right here on campus: the Bucknell Public Interest Program (BPIP) and the BPIP Internship Fund. BPIP educates students about non-profit and public service careers, and helps students learn about how to find internships and jobs in these sectors. The BPIP Internship Fund provides financial support for undergraduate students (first-year students, sophomores, and juniors), who have secured full-time, unpaid summer internships with non-profit organization and government offices.
