Did you see the latest Bucknellian article about the Shepard Internship program? Want to learn more? We want to help you! Here’s some great information regarding the program and upcoming info sessions hosted by the Office of Civic Engagement:

Do you want to make a difference in U.S. society? Looking for a challenging opportunity during this summer where you can gain practical and professional skills while helping others? Consider representing our university in a special program that allows students to learn and serve in needy urban and rural communities.

For several years, Bucknell has been part of the Shepherd Higher Education Consortium on Poverty. We encourage students of all majors to both study factors that contribute to conditions of inequality and to engage in experiential learning opportunities that help to alleviate poverty. We are now recruiting applicants for the summer 2018 Shepherd Intern Program. Internships are available to address immigrant rights, housing and homelessness, economic development, youth empowerment, public health, criminal justice, legal advocacy, & environmental protection. If you would like to be considered as a candidate for this special opportunity to represent Bucknell, or if you know students who would be a great fit for this dynamic program, please read on.

There will be three information sessions held in early November and the application deadline is January 20, 2018. Mark your calendar now so you won’t miss this upcoming opportunity. Candidates are encouraged to attend one of the three sessions listed below to learn about the application process and the summer program.
