Peer Picks: Kargo & Kraft Heinz

vladFor this week’s peer picks the theme is uniqueness – one position makes use of two different skill sets in a very interesting way, while the other position differentiates itself through the wide types of exposure that you get.

1 Kargo Account Coordinator – apply by March 11

2 Kraft Heinz Operations Management Trainee program – apply by March 12

The first pick is a Account Coordinator position for Kargo, the largest mobile marketplace for premium brand advertising. As more and more of our media consumption is digital and mobile, the importance of mobile advertising only grows. Through its alliance of publishing partners, Kargo enables brands and agencies to reach eight out of ten smartphone users in the US. Kargo is looking for people who are both creative and have a passion for the digital environment and technology development.

From my experience in advertising, I know that working as a Account Coordinator is a fantastic position for long-term growth. Why? Because you are interacting with many different members of your own team and are constantly learning from them, and you also interact with clients as well, learning to understand what their needs are and build sustainable relationships. You’re also required not only to be a good coordinator, but also to think critically, and provide strategic consulting regarding inventory monetization strategies and policies, marketplace trends and best practices, and development of publisher direct sales. Kraft Mac and Cheese and Capri Sun were definitely some of the staples I enjoyed, particularly in my first year in college. These are only a couple of Kraft Heinz’s vast portfolio of brands, as it is the 3rd largest food company in the US and 5th largest in the world. Managing manufacturing and logistics is crucial to ensure that products reach customers. As a member of the Operations Management Trainee program, you will learn everything you would need to know as a future Operations leader.

The first eight week period will be spent at one of Kraft Heinz’s corporate headquarters around the US, where you will receive classroom based training within the experiential development program. After, you will be assigned to a project spanning a four month period at one of the U.S. manufacturing locations. That’s the number one thing I liked about this program – not only are you getting training before you start, but once you start, you are treated as a full-time employee, doing real work and delivering real results. After the conclusion of the program, Kraft Heinz also offers to continue employment at one of their manufacturing plants. The deadline for the application is March 12. You can apply for this position on the Bridge.
