Peer Picks: Dance/USA & eTern

This weekvlad peer picks from Vladimir ’16:

1. Dance/USA Program Internship

2. eIntern Software Developer Internship

Are you passionate by dance but are also management-minded? Dance/USA has an internship in Washington DC that will challenge you to apply your skills in a workplace scenario. The position offered by Dance/USA is that of Development intern. As an intern, you will be working with the director of development and the development associate to prepare proposals and reports to Dance/USA’s foundation, corporate and government funders. Some of the duties include, but are not limited to: working on grant proposals, reports, stewarding current donors and new donor programs, planning Board of Trustees meetings.

One distinct advantage of this internship is that you will be exposed to many areas of the organization and develop many relationships. The deadline to the application for this part-time internship is April 1st, 2015. Candidates should email their resume and a cover letter outlining internship interests, career goals and availability to Melissa Lineburg, executive administrator at mlineburg@danceusa.org, with the subject line of “Development Internship Application”

The second internship opportunity we will focus on this week is in the IT industry. Software development positions at companies tend to be highly competitive, but this internship can give you an opening in the industry even before you graduate. eIntern Inc is looking for interns in various locations, nationwide through their Software Developer internship. This internship gives you the opportunity to learn the latest technologies that are in high demand while completing your coursework.

If you’ve had or will have course work dealing with Object Oriented programming, this internship will help you apply those skills and develop them further to become proficient in the field. After completing your internship, the company will evaluate your work, which upon successful completion grants employment within the company.

Applying to this particular internship is through emailing your most updated resume to angel.diamond@eintern.com by April 6th, 2015.

If you are interested in eTern but looking for something more permanent they also have a job listed on the BRIDGE for Full Time Entry-Level Software Developers due on April 6th.

Good luck in the job and internship search!
