This week peer picks from Sophie ’16:

PFM Group paid IT Internship – Deadline November 30

Warner Music Group Internship – Deadline December 11

For my peer pick this week, I selected The PFM Group, the nation’s leading municipal financial advisory firm. The PFM group is looking to offer a paid opportunity for an IT Intern to work half-time (approximately 16 hours per week, flexible during business hours).  The IT Intern will help fulfill the expanded responsibilities of our IT department.   This position would be a good fit for students who are seeking to gain exposure to the day-to-day operations of a technology department within the financial services industry. The role will be based in its Harrisburg, PA office. Some typical tasks for which you would be responsible would be un-packaging workstations and using software imaging tools to build workstations, filling out necessary build sheets and updating hardware inventory, and working with members of the IT staff to document internal processes! If you are an interested candidate, check out the following desired skills and qualifications that the PFM Group is looking for! It is encouraged to have 2+ years at the collegiate level in information technology or a related field, a familiarity and comfort level working with software and hardware, strong writing and documentation skills, good office manner and ability to interact with individuals at all levels, being a team player and highly organized, able to self-start and work independently, and finally to be enthusiastic and flexible. To apply, do not forget that the deadline is Sunday, November 30th! Apply on the BRIDGE, in addition to sending your resume and a cover letter to allenl@pfm.com. Also, remember to indicate your position of interest, desired work schedule and availability date in your submission materials!

As for my second peer pick this week, I chose an internship with Warner Music Group in New York City! There are other locations offered other than its headquarters listed on its site! An internship with Warner Music Group allows students to shadow one of the top music companies in the industry in various departments. Each intern is assigned a special project that will help them understand how each department operates. To ensure that every intern feels valued, they are presented with an Intern Bill of Rights, which ensures a mutually rewarding experience. While WMG internships are unpaid, they are offered for academic credit. Furthermore, you will have the chance to interact and network with fellow interns, executives, and participate in a resume building workshop. If you can commit to at least 15 hours per week, definitely do not forget to apply on the BRIDGE by Thursday, December 11th!
