This week peer picks from Sophie ’16:

 – Quan Web Studios Video Production Intern

Defender Associates Internship

For my peer pick, I chose to focus on Quan Web Studios, an online digital marketing services and video production company! Quan Web Studios is based in our favorite town, Lewisburg, Pennsylvania! As a video production intern, you would have the chance to film, edit, and finalize video and motion graphics from start to finish. You would have hands on experience with event footage, interviews, and small promotional content in order to serve companies that need videos to highlight their mission and philosophies as well as companies that need product explainer videos! This internship is targeted toward any Bucknell student who has expertise and proficiency in videography, particularly Film and Media students – however, any student is still welcome to apply if he or she has the skill and expertise to bring to the table! The major requirements are that candidates must be fluent with Final Cut 7 or X, and any additional experience with After Effects/Motion, Sound Track Pro, Color, and Compressor is preferred. Since this is a job that requires a large amount of creativity and vision, a portfolio of your work carries a lot more weight than just a resume, so please provide your portfolio if you have one! This position offers a great opportunity to mature as a video editor, strengthen your portfolio, and gain significant experience. All interns are guaranteed a letter of recommendation. If this sounds like a Fall semester opportunity that is right up your alley, do not forget to apply on the BRIDGE by Monday, November 24th!

My second peer pick is an internship with the Defender Association. This legal intern training program is nationally recognized and attracts top-notch law students from all over the country each summer. The Summer Intern Program is a ten-week program, beginning approximately the first week in June and continuing through the middle of August. Students will spend the first two weeks in training, which includes office orientation, trial advocacy training, and a mock trial. Legal interns are assigned to a variety of divisions, including misdemeanors, felonies, juvenile court, dependencies, and sex offender commitments. If you are a second year law student interested in applying for a summer internship, applications are accepted from September 15 through November 30. Final decisions will be made by December 15 at the latest. To apply for a summer internship, email the following materials to Theresa Allman, Legal Intern Supervisor, at theresa.allman@defender.org: cover letter, resume, writing sample, and 2 letters of recommendation. Following receipt and review of your materials, you will be notified if you have been selected for an interview. An in-person interview is not required. Out of town students will be interviewed by phone. However, if you are otherwise planning to be in Seattle prior to December 15, an in-person interview can be scheduled! You are at no disadvantage if you interview by phone. Also, if you are a first, second, or third year law student interested in applying for a school year externship, applications are accepted on a rolling basis. To apply for a school year externship, email the following materials to Theresa Allman, Legal Intern Supervisor, at theresa.allman@defender.org: cover letter, resume, writing sample, and 2 letters of recommendation. Following receipt and review of your materials, you will be contacted if you’ve been selected for an interview! Definitely apply to this program if you are interested through the BRIDGE by Sunday, November 30th!
