The last Peer Pick of the semester, but have no fear if you are still looking for a job or an internship – there are still plenty of great opportunities listed on the BRIDGE or you can add your resume to our Resume Books. Without further ado, here are Sophie’s peer picks from the BRIDGE for this week:

SustainaFest

U.S. Trade and Development Agency

For those of you highly interested in pursuing a career in sustainability, I chose to highlight an internship with SustainaFest, an organization centralized in Annapolis, Maryland that is dedicated to using art and entertainment to spur sustainability and action in schools and communities. As stated on its website, environmental and social education is at the heart of SustainaFest. The organization seeks “to leverage the power of cutting-edge film, awe-inspiring music, visionary speakers, social entrepreneurs, seasoned educators, and innovative projects to spark dialogue, spotlight innovations, and catalyze new solutions”. If you are successful at growing social media communities, at organizing events, at conducting research and summarizing, and want to get more experience in any or all of these areas – consider applying to this internship on the BRIDGE by Monday, May 5th!

Another fantastic internship opportunity related to sustainability can be found through the U.S. Trade and Development Agency in Arlington, Virginia. The U.S. Trade and Development Agency aids companies in creating U.S. jobs through the export of U.S. goods and services for priority development projects in emerging economies. If you are selected to intern over the summer with USTDA, you will learn about the economic, financial, political, and other factors that contribute to the implementation of major infrastructure projects in developing and middle-income countries.  You will also get to understand the underlying concepts and operational environment of foreign assistance and economic development programs, of U.S. Government structure for international affairs, the roles of the various agencies involved in foreign affairs, the factors influencing international trade, and how international trade can contribute to development goals. You can choose to intern with one of three subgroups: traditional energy and power, electricity transmission and distribution, and renewable energy. Those of you who seek to reduce emissions and bolster efforts in the arena of renewable energy, check out this internship on the BRIDGE! Do not forget to apply by Monday, May 12th!
