Sophie’s peer picks from the BRIDGE this week include:

Trunk Club Sales Intern

DirecTV Engineering Intern

For my peer pick this week, I chose to showcase an internship with Trunk Club, a company dedicated to rid men of the hassle of shopping for clothes in stores or online. Trunk Club hand selects a trunk of items based on each customer’s needs and tastes and ships the clothing to him for free! If you choose to be a sales intern for Trunk Club, you can spend your summer in Chicago, Dallas, or D.C.! Motivated and goal-driven interns are desired so as to maintain and increase the company’s customer database while supporting its stylists. You can become immersed in a start-up environment and learn a ton from top sales people. You would be responsible for identifying prospective clients and customers via cold calls, warm leads, email, and social media, maintaining and enhancing communications with existing customers, pinpointing target markets to increase and broaden brand awareness, shadowing current stylists during on-site appointments, partnering with customer service ambassadors, and completing a summer-long project to be presented at the finale of the internship. If this work sounds perfect for your stylish self, do not forget to apply by Monday, April 28th on the BRIDGE!

Another sweet internship I found was with DirecTV. They promise that you will not be responsible for filing papers or completing other mundane office work. They state that they offer the chance to work with cutting edge technology and bring the highest value in entertainment to the homes of friends and family to those of you who are technology-obsessed, excited to innovate, and want to compete with the technological world. In 12 weeks, you will participate in weekly lunch events with leaders, trainings, and development courses – while being able to partake in social events, volunteer days, and touring broadcast centers and joining a technician on a Ride-Along for the day. Did we mention, engineers and computer science majors? This is a paid internship! If you are interested in pursuing a career in software engineering, set-top box engineering, satellite and communications, or broadcast engineering and operations – this could be your foot in the door! Do not forget to apply by Wednesday, April 30th!
