Sustainability Field Trip to Philadelphia

Sign up on the BRIDGE by March 31 for this Sustainability Field Trip to Philadelphia presented by Net Impact and the Career Development Center on April 3rd (all day).

An important note: Students will be asked to pay $25.00 to cover cost of dinner. Money (correct change only) can be given to the CDC (M-F 8:30-4:30) or at the prep session on April 1. Students must pay before 8pm on April 1 in order to attend.

TRIP ITINERARY:

  • 5:15am: Leave campus from Football Stadium Parking Lot
  • 9am: Campbell’s Site Visit
    • Introduction from Dave Stangis, VP Public Affairs and Corporate Responsibility
    • Overview of Reporting, GRI and External Yardsticks from Niki Kelley, Manager, CSR Program Office and Bob Shober, VP Infrastructure Engineering and Environmental Programs
    • Healthy Communities from Kim Fortunato, Director Healthy Communities
    • Sustainability in the Supply Chain, John Tran, Sr Analyst Sustainability Procurement
    • Question and Answer Session
  • 11-12:30pm: Lunch and Talk at the Academy of Natural Sciences Cafe
    • Founded in 1812, the Academy is a leading natural history museum dedicated to advancing research, education, and public engagement in biodiversity and environmental science.
    • A representative from the Academy Sustainability Committee and  Jennifer Anderson ’94, Principal at Resonate, Strategic Sustainability Consulting will speak to the group.
    • Students are responsible for paying for their own lunch
  • 12:45-1:45pm: Stop at MugShots Coffee Shop, Member of Philadelphia Sustainable Business Network and B Corp Certified.
  • 2:30-4pm: Visit at B Corporation
    • Overview of B Lab with Kali Fairchild, Standards Associate followed by a Q&A Session
  • 4:30-6:30pm Dinner with Bucknell alumni at White Dog Café
  • 6:45pm Depart for Return Trip to Campus
  • 11pm Bus Returns to Campus

Attendance at a prep session is required for students: April 1, 8pm-Dana 117

Dress is professional attire to the event (suits are appropriate); get more ideas from our Pinterest boards.

Students must talk with their professors concerning class absences.
