I know it’s been awhile since our last @BisonINCareers takeover but we are back with a great one on Tuesday, April 9th with Kimberly Hallman ’04 an Account Supervisor at Devine + Partners.
Follow along @BisonINCareers as Kim takes us through a media day for the opening of KidZooU: a new children’s zoo at the Philadelphia Zoo. It will be a major unveiling for the region and highly attended by media. We encourage you to follow, ask questions, and interact with Kim on @BisonINCareers on April 9th.
Here’s more on Kim:
A journalist turned PR pro, Kim specializes in media relations strategy and implementation, writing and copywriting, and social media for Devine + Partners clients.
Intent on getting the story [like any good reporter] she prides herself on pinpointing strong leads, and takes particular care in crafting press releases and pitches that read like feature articles. She’s also formed close relationships – friendships, really – with Philly’s top lifestyle and culture media.
To get her creative writing fix, Kim writes web content, collateral pieces, ad copy, annual reports and, every now and again, pens company blog posts. And, when brevity is the order of the day, you can find her tweeting away on behalf of clients.
A foodie and fan of all things fashionable, she’s carved out an ‘upscale lifestyle’ niche at D+P, spanning first-class hotels, fine dining, luxury real estate and retail. She’s worked extensively in the firm’s Travel + Tourism division, representing top Philadelphia destinations including R2L, a Daniel Stern Restaurant; Hotel Palomar and Square 1682; the Philadelphia Zoo; and The Hub Centers for Meeting & Collaboration; as well as out-of-market clients including Forty 1° North marina and restaurants in Newport, RI; and the landmark Inn at Lambertville Station and Station Restaurant in Lambertville, NJ. And she’s living out every girl’s [PR] dream, donning diamonds and representing Tiffany & Co. in the Philadelphia, King of Prussia, Atlantic City and Baltimore markets.
Kim holds a B.A. in English (minors: music, legal studies) from Bucknell University, and an M.A. in Newspaper, Magazine and On-line Journalism from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, where she was awarded a Communications scholarship in 2005. She turned out bylines in The Daily Item in central Pennsylvania and The Post-Standard in upstate New York, and worked as an editorial assistant for the National Campaign for the Arts in London, before landing on the Philly PR scene at the start of 2006.
To keep up ties with her alma mater, she serves as vice president of the Bucknell Club of Philadelphia, where she plans young alumni events and community service initiatives. She’s also new to the board of the Rock School for Dance Education, one of the nation’s premier dance training institutions, and is a member of a co-ed, post-collegiate a cappella group in Philadelphia called In the Mix.
We encourage you to follow, interact, and ask questions with Kim on @BisonINCareers on April 9th.
