Online Info Sessions for NYU Publishing programs

The New York University Center for Publishing will be offering two upcoming online information sessions for its M.S. in Publishing program (11/10) and its Summer Publishing Institute (11/15).

The Center for Publishing at the New York University School of Continuing and Professional Studies is pleased to invite you to participate in two online information sessions about their programs for students graduating next May and others interested in careers in digital and print media.

Master of Science in Publishing: Digital and Print Media
Thursday, November 10, 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Learn about this renowned 42-credit master’s degree program that provides students with a thorough knowledge of all aspects of the book, magazine, and digital publishing industries. Courses are taught by a faculty of leading professionals who are actively engaged in many of America’s top publishing companies. Industry visits, workshops and panel discussions provide valuable, first-hand knowledge and networking opportunities. A strong internship program helps students with limited publishing experience to gain important hands-on training. An annual career fair enables students to meet with top recruiters. Evening classes and flexible, full- or part-time schedules are available.

2012 Summer Publishing Institute (SPI)
Thursday, November 15, 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Join us online to learn more about our six-week, immersive summer program (June 4-July 13, 2012), developed specifically for recent college graduates who are interested in careers in the book, magazine, and digital media publishing industries. SPI, now in its 34th year, annually features more than 150 leading industry executives who serve as faculty members and speakers. Students attend lectures and workshops that explore key publishing issues; visit some of the top book, magazine, and digital publishing headquarters; and participate in a career fair. SPI provides six graduate credits to those who successfully complete the program, which may be applied to an advanced degree by the appropriate degree-granting institution.

Note: Students who attend the Summer Publishing Institute may also choose to apply to the M.S. in Publishing program. If admitted, they will enter the program in the fall with six credits of advanced standing. Therefore, you may find it useful to attend both of the information sessions described above.

Once you RSVP, you will receive an email confirmation. The day of the event, please visit: http://tinyurl.com/scpspubcenterinfo to join the session.
