Description:
ESPN is proud to establish an ongoing internship in memory of Tim Nesvig.  Tim was 1996 Bucknell graduate, who excelled as a student-athlete.  He was awarded the University’s Christy Mathewson Award and earned All-American honors as Captain of the water polo team.  He was a very popular co-worker at ESPN when he lost a battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2005.  You can read more about Tim and the Foundation established in his honor at http://www.cityofhope.org/TimNesvig/classic.htm.

Tim left a strong legacy in the media industry.  His father, Jon Nesvig, is President of Sales for FOX Broadcasting; he worked at Carat, a major player in advertising and media buying; and as an Account Executive at ESPN, called on Wieden + Kennedy, known for world class advertising for clients including Nike and ESPN.  All of these well-regarded companies have partnered to create a special opportunity for one student each summer in honor of Tim.

The Tim Nesvig Intern will be employed by ESPN and will spend approximately two-thirds of the summer assigned to a team in our Customer Marketing and Sales division.  Additionally, this intern will spend two weeks at FOX and one week each at Carat and Wieden.  All of the offices are in New York City.

The qualifications are straightforward:

– A Bucknell undergraduate student athlete who follows in Tim’s footsteps by upholding the highest standards in both academics and athletics.
– Students entering their senior year are preferred, but those entering their junior year may be considered.

The Tim Nesvig Internship program will give one student an opportunity to gain a broader view of our industry.
