Wall Street Exchange

Do you have a summer finance internship in NYC? Want to get more out of it? Check out the Wall Street Exchange (WSE).

The program is an opportunity for students to go into top Wall Street firms throughout their summer for skill building activities and networking {resume critiques, career panels, etc}. The Wall Street Exchange is a program designed to augment the summer internship work experience of select qualified students who are between their junior year and senior years of college and who are employed in the New York metropolitan area.

In the immortal words of The Doors, “the time to hesitate is through.” The application deadline is at the END OF APRIL.

WSE provides an exciting opportunity for participants to enhance job search skills while learning to think strategically about career choices. It provides participants with the tools necessary to execute a successful job search and assist in the all important recruitment process. This is accomplished through a series of workshops that address skills including professionalism, leadership, resume writing, interview techniques, career development and career choice. The program additionally emphasizes the important role a professional network serves in career development. The “Summer Network”, a volunteer group of dedicated FWA professionals who offer WSE participants professional and personal support.

This is an opportunity open to both male and female students.

Benefits of Participation in the WSE Summer Program

  • Exciting opportunity to enhance job search skills while learning to think strategically about career choices.
  • Participation in eight weeks of events and programs designed to strengthen the skills necessary to execute a successful undergraduate full time job search in financial services and related fields. Topics covered in formal education programs include resume writing, interview techniques, business etiquette and more.
  • Opportunity to begin building a professional network through access to the WSE’s Summer Network – a group of dedicated FWA business contacts available to offer professional and personal advice.
  • Membership Directory – hard copy listing of FWA members, their professional roles and their firms.
  • Qualify for FWA membership. Typically candidates for full membership to the FWA must have either four years of professional experience in a financial position or two years of experience with an advanced degree in business. However, associate memberships are also available for candidates with less professional experience including Former FWA WSE interns.
