Writing a resume seems to be so much easier now that there are nice looking and colorful templates available with a search online, however many employers and career center staff, including ours, would advise you to NOT use a template.
Now is the time to prepare for a different type of recruiting season and we recommend you take some time now, as classes are just beginning, to update your resume and LinkedIn and Handshake profiles.
Recruiting will go on! And now is a great time to start to prepare for a virtual recruiting season.

With 3 career fairs this spring semester we want to help make sure your resume is ready, which is why we are offering a “resume week” with extended walk-in hours for resume reviews.
Besides napping, eating, and binge watching Netflix Thanksgiving Break can be a great time to work on some things that can help you come back to campus more prepared for our programs and events – like your resume!

Are you still seeking summer or full-time employment? If you haven’t already, visit the Career Center to learn about comprehensive job search strategies! You should also publish your resume to the Resume Book on the BRIDGE, where employers will have access to your document, and if they find a skill match, may contact you directly. Easy Instructions: 1. Click on Document tab/Upload a resume, then Documents/Publish a Resume 2. Select appropriate resume book (Seniors: Class of 2013, Underclassmen: Summer 2013) 3. For sophomores who are applying to the Externship Program and still need to have their resume reviewed by the CDC we will be having a special Externship Resumania for walk in resume reviews in the CDC (2nd Fl) Monday, Oct 22, 11:00 – 3:30 Tuesday, Oct 23, 11:00 – 3:30 Remember – a resume review is a REQUIREMENT of the Externship Program and the deadline is 10/23. There are TONS of great Externships on the BRIDGE so don’t miss your chance – we’ve heard from lots of Juniors who regret missing it….

Walk in time for all you sophomores who are applying to the Externship Program and need to get that resume critiqued (program requirement). Critiques are 5-7 minutes with a student worker or counselor and are administered on a first come-first served basis.
