Externship at North Shore University Hospital-Jessica Shui ‘09 Every sophomore should participate in the Career Development Center’s Externship Program because the exposure to one’s aspired professional field is invaluable. I was matched to Dr. Alan Hartman, Cardiothoracic Surgeon and Chairman of the Cardiothoracic Unit at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY. I anxiously looked forward to this priceless opportunity. Dr. Hartman took his role as my sponsor seriously and requested I should experience the notoriously long doctors’ hours by having a 7AM to 7PM shift. Alumni Presentation: Tips for Interviewing for Medical School

This Friday, September 25 at 5:00 in BIOL 104, Dr. David Janda ’80 will be giving a talk on Tips for Interviewing for Medical School. This will be relevant not only for medical school, but for any of the health professions graduate schools. Dr. Janda has done this in the past with great success, and had graciously offered to present once again. If you are able, I would highly recommend that you try to make it – especially if you will be interviewing this fall or spring!
