The Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic: A Personal Testimonial – Lisanna Gonzalez

Tuesday, March  30 @ 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. Coleman 120 Lisanna Gonzalez spent two years in the Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic (2004-2006).  Her presentation will share her experience working with two other Peace Corps volunteers in the community of Gualate located in the mountains of the Northern Province of Puerta Plata.  The focus of this work was on: bringing clean water to the community, improving public health, health education for women and youth (HIV/AIDS, STD’s), women’s self-esteem and empowerment, environmental sustainability, and creating a micro-credit bank. Senior Transitions – new series starts Monday
