The Office of Civic Engagement will be hosting an Alternative Break Fair on Tuesday, 9/14, from 4-6 pm in ELC the Center Room. This is an opportunity for students, staff, and faculty to learn about groups sponsoring opportunities for educational travel and service-learning experiences.
Information will be available on university-sponsored programs like the Bucknell Brigade to Nicaragua, a Jewish heritage trip with Hillel to Eastern Europe, the Katrina Recovery Team’s work in the Gulf Coast, a 3-week summer study program in Northern Ireland as well as student-organized efforts like Intervarsity mission trips, Bicycles Against Poverty in Uganda, ACES spring break in the Dominican Republic, and others. If you’d like the opportunity to interact with like-minded individuals in a unique way outside the classroom while expanding your own horizons, please stop by the fair and learn more. These programs are a great way to make life-long friends, see different cultures, and find out about yourself.
Might I add….these are also great resume building service activities.
