Lewisburg is a great place; nestled between rolling green hills and Amish farmland it is beautiful, relaxing and a great place to go to college; (in)conveniently located 3 hours from 3 major cities while maintaining its status of being in the middle of nowhere it is charming to say the least. But it can be difficult at times to get exactly what you want which is part of the reason we have cars and highways.
Unfortunately the GRE test is only given at designated computer testing centers, which Lewisburg is not. The good news is Harrisburg is and it’s only a quick trip south to get there (Google Map Directions). And before you complain about how far away it is I want to ask if you have ever taken a trip to The Crossings in Tannersville? If yes, then no complaints…it’s the same distance! If no, then here is your chance to visit the STATE CAPITAL! With the recent news of Harrisburg’s potential to declare bankruptcy this trip can present not only a way to take the GRE but also a way for you to practice your civic duties of spending money to help a city’s bad economic situation. Check out some restaurants while you are there! There is a great Indian place, a pretty cool brewery, as well as some good shopping.
If you still don’t want to go to Harrisburg another great option to consider is finding a test center near your hometown. It may be more convenient to register for a test while visiting the fam over a break or holiday, or just for a weekend where you can also get some laundry done!
We will be having some GRE Subject Tests here at Bucknell so make sure you check our calendar for that but make note that details and registration are all done through ETS
