We are teaming up with the Film/Media Studies Program and the Creative Writing Program to co-host a Q&A and lunch with Andrew Roddewig at Noon on Thursday, 10/6, in Arches Lounge. This promises to be an informative session for anyone interested in working in comedy, film, TV, production, and screenwriting.
Andrew Roddewig is a Chicago-based comedy writer, producer, and director. He received his BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2005, and has studied comedy writing at The Second City and at iO Theater. He has worked in every level of production, from his first job as a production assistant on the HBO series The Sopranos to Executive Producer of the web series The Adventures of Jacketman.
Andrew currently splits his time between creating branded content for companies like Honda and Toyota, and producing original sketch comedy for the iO Comedy Network. He hosts a monthly comedy video showcase and community event at the iO Theater called iOCN LIVE where he shows videos from the iO Comedy Network, invites guests from the comedy community to show new work, and helps to create an atmosphere of collaboration and appreciation in the Chicago comedy video community.
He is also the Director of iO Comedy Network’s video incubator program called the Hive, which pairs filmmakers with comedy groups over a three month period to create original comedy videos.
