Peer Picks: Trunk Club & College Fashionista

Photo - HatteryFor this week, my peer picks, I chose to highlight opportunities in the fashion industry:

Trunk Club – November 30 deadline

College Fashionista – December 6 deadline

My first peer pick is a job opportunity as a stylist representative at Trunk Club, a company who helps alleviate the overwhelming inconvenience of shopping for those of you who still like to be stylish! Trunk Club is searching for a confident, top-performer who is excited to work in a fast-paced environment, highly personable who prioritizes the customer, and is both creative and business-minded. This entry level job expects a background in sales experience, preferably in a client-building business (think proactive, not reactive selling!), a candidate to possess the ability in new business development and client relationship management, as well as strong organizational skills with an attention to detail, and more obviously, an appreciation for apparel, a good sense of style, and the ability to carry oneself well. If you are hired, you will be focusing on meeting or exceeding sales quotas, generating a database of qualified leads through referrals, email, and networking opportunities, establishing a strong client base and cultivating long-lasting relationships with your customers, crushing your targets and setting a new standard for initiative and efficiency among your peer, and building a great company that disrupts the traditional retail model and drives brand awareness. If this sounds appealing to you, and you are interested in being in the city, do not forget to apply on the Bridge by November 30th!

For my second peer pick, I wanted to highlight another fashion-related opportunity at CollegeFashionista! CollegeFashionista is looking for ambitious, goal-orientated interns this spring to report on the fashion trends happening I campus (note this is internship is done remotely so it’s a great chance to gain some experience right at Bucknell during the semester). The company’s interns, aka “Style Gurus”, are in charge of capturing street style photography around their college campus as well as creating articles based on their findings. Style Gurus contribute two posts per month during the duration of the internship as well as participate in bi-monthly Twitter chats with fashion industry executives, webinars and other skill building exercises. Interns also have the opportunity to work on brand campaigns and home page features. The position runs from the week of December 21, 2015 to May 20, 2016 and is unpaid, however, credit can be received. This is an excellent opportunity to have alongside being a full-time student. The one requirement is that students must own or have access to a camera for the position. SLR cameras are preferred! If this sounds like an internship you would be interested in, definitely apply by December 6th on the Bridge!
