Interested in studying abroad? Interested in contemporary film and media?
Bucknell’s Concentration in Film/Media Studies will offer ENGL 238 – Film in the Digital Age as a London-based summer study abroad course from May 19 – June 13.
London has come along way since the The Globe, and is one of the major film production and post-production world capitals and has witnessed a total transformation of the filmmaking process. I know this because when I was there I just happened to walk into the Rock of Ages premiere. I spotted Russel Brand and Tom Cruise before my battery died (these are really my pictures!). But honestly what better place to study film in the digital age?
This class combines relevant readings and screenings with numerous London-based excursions and visiting film artists and professionals to understand how digital technologies shape the movies and media we see.
Taught by Eric Faden and Rebecca Meyers, this course will fulfill the CCC Humanities requirement, Global Connections, and a 200-level Film/Media course. Space is limited. If you are interested in participating, please contact Film/Media Studies Professor Eric Faden or Meredith Field in the Office of International Education right away.
