The traditional entertainment industry is being obliterated due to the shift in entertainment consumption and new viewing platforms. The Millenial demographic is primarily what is creating this shift, focusing on how people viewed their favorite shows just a generation ago. The younger, more technological generation paired with the emergence of so many new platforms is amplifying the effect. This seminar will explore how networks, digital services and MVPD’s are responding to this revolution.
Agenda as follows:
– Arrive around 11:30 – 12
– Lunch panel (coordinated by Lisa Black ’93)
– 1:30 – 5 pm Topics covered will be: Programming and Production, Digital Distribution, Marketing Content and Driving Connections and Viewership, What are the jobs and organization structures
Speakers from these employers: Disney, EPIX, Time Warner, Viacom, ESPN, Showtime, HBO, Relativity Media, Verizon, Ubiquity, SyFy
Students participating in this experience will be grouped and matched with an industry adviser who participated in the day and works in media/entertainment. The industry adviser will setup phone calls and provide contact information to be helpful to students as they search for industry related internships and jobs.
Open to 40 students only! Sign up on the BRIDGE
