Happy Halloween! Have I got a scary thought for you – your online reputation. They say pictures are worth a thousand words and since no one will read a one thousand word blog post I thought this image would be good to start out with:
Now that I’ve (hopefully) got your attention it’s time to tell you about a workshop we’ll be doing regarding your Professional Reputation. I know this sounds all stuffy and serious but what it comes down to is making sure you don’t become one of the statistics above. You see we can’t make this up…it’s a reality and it’s happening and we want you to be prepared so it doesn’t happen to you.
So on Tuesday, November 8 in ELC 256 at 6PM join us for FREE FOOD and a chance to get FREE Professional Pictures.
Oh – you will also learn the basics about how to manage your “professional reputation” now and why it is so important – in the search and at the job (or internship). We’ll tell you what employers tell us and find out how to avoid online mistakes that could cost you a job. At the end of this short (30 min) presentation we will be offering a chance to get a professional photo – I’m not talking about me using my little Sony Cyber-Shot camera I’m talking about pictures by a professional…for free (!) for you to use online and/or for your Gmail profile.
