Did you know the Writing Center offers some great workshops on Resumes and Cover Letters? What’s the difference between ours and there’s you may ask? Well, the Writing Center focuses on…well…the writing! We do that as well but also have a big focus on formatting and structure. I think it’s great to go to both! You can never have too much help on a resume or cover letter.
So, with that being said, we’d like to share with you their workshop schedule for the fall:
Please call 73141 to register for the workshop of your choosing

Are you conducting a job search? If so, the Writing Center invites you to our workshop,“Writing Your Resume and Cover Letter.” We can help you with everything from making a list of skills and experiences appropriate for your resume and cover letter to developing strategies for tailoring them to the job you want.
Honors Thesis Proposal Workshop: Getting Started
Wednesday, October 5 at 5 p.m.
200G Roberts Hall
This workshop is designed not only to give you the support and guidance of Writing Center staff, but also to help you meet other Thesis writers with whom you can share ideas, questions, anxieties, and (we hope) triumphs. We will talk about:
- planning a long writing project
- suiting your plan to your own writing process
- learning to write a scholarly paper within the conventions of your field
- soliciting and using the feedback of peers, instructors, and writing consultants
Personal Statement Workshop
Wednesday, October 26 at 5 p.m.
200G Roberts Hall
If you are applying to graduate school, law school, medical school, professional school, or any other program that requires a personal statement, you won’t want to miss this workshop. Learn about:
- what admissions committees look for when they read personal statements
- the steps you need to take to prepare your statement
- the resources available at Bucknell to assist you in your personal statement writing process
If you are interested in one of the workshops, but are unable to attend, please make an individual appointment to discuss your writing project.
