Glasses-and-Computer“You’re only given a little spark of madness. You mustn’t lose it.” Robin Williams

Job search is like almost any task. Not everything works for everyone, not everyone is good at it, not everyone has all of the right answers and not everyone knows the way forward. So what could be better than sites reviewed by readers who have found their sites to be helpful? Job search at its best! Thanks again to readers who’ve submitted their favorite sites (or sometimes their own sites).

  • OneDayOneJob.com – This site is geared towards college grads and it’s tag line is “Entry level jobs for new college grads” and if you are looking for entry level jobs this is definitely a site you want to visit. The top of the main page has links for Employer Profiles, Internships, Job Search Tips, About Us and Job Search Prep. The Employer Profiles link leads to a list of entry level employers where you can sort by employer, date, tag cloud and location. Clicking on any of the companies leads to a one-pager on the employer with additional links. The Internships link is covered below in the next bullet. The site provide excellent resources for your job search.
  • OneDayOneInternship.com – Associated with OneDayOneJob.com, I’m sure you’ve guessed what this site is focused on. Links at the top of the main page for Today’s Internships, Past Internships, Entry Level Jobs (links back to ondayonejob.com), About US, Blog and more. The Past Internships link leads to a list of internships previously posted on the site. You can view the list by Date, Employer and Tag Cloud. Clicking on any company link leads to a full page with a broad range of information (including internships). There are additional helpful links on the right hand side of the page which provide additional information or direct links. If you’ve read any of my college career posts you will know how I stress the power and importance of internships during college. This is the site to go to when making your decisions regarding internships. A wealth of information is included in all of the links with a very clean and crisp interface.
  • Jobspeaker.com – “Truth in Recruiting” is the tag-line for this site which is in beta at the moment. The main page has tabs at the top for Job Seekers, Recruiters and Employers. If you register on the site (for free), you can setup your full profile. The main page has recent recruiter ratings on the right hand side of the page. Clicking on any of the names links to a full page on that recruiter. The other links are not yet up and running (the site is in beta), but the recruiter information that is already posted can be very helpful in your search. There is a star rating system and, I’m sure you are going to want to start with the best rated first. Check back on the site once it adds additional content.
  • Applicant.com – This is an interesting site and, while not strictly dedicated to career advice or job search, there is content for this and the site has an interesting approach to becoming a better applicant. What does that mean, it is said best on the About link at the top of their main page. There are links at the top to direct you to a number of focused articles. The links are: Career, Entrepreneur, Freelance and more. Each link leads to focused articles based on the topic. Careers, as an example, is dedicated to career advice and job search. It is definitely worth a read.
  • Fightunemployment.com – This site includes a blog, by ResuWe.com, and provides a wide range of career advice and leads. As an example, the blog posted on August 13 provided a full list of available jobs at a particular company along with the managers and their email addresses. Various related topics are covered and I’ve also seen one post that promoted an individual who is currently unemployed. The site is very interesting and the career advice offered covers the full range of career topics and offers valuable advice that is not often included in other similar sites. This site is definitely worth a read.

Good luck in your search.
