Unemployed to Silicon Valley with Alek Zherka ’19: 12 – 1 pm, ELC Gallery Theatre

Regardless of the degree you are pursuing, finding a way into a job after college can be a very daunting task. Alek Zherka ’19 spent the summer crafting a unique new way of successfully his first job in Silicon Valley.

Join Alex as he discusses his journey from student to unemployment to working at a Silicon Valley Biotech Startup, and how you could do something similar.

Alek was a BPIP intern in the summer 2018 studying ADHD from a neuroscience perspective in (he was a Neuroscience major) at the University of Copenhagen, extending his semester abroad there into the summer.

USAJobs & Federal Resume Workshop with Raj Thangavelu ’98: 3 – 4 pm, ACWS 213

Raj Thagavelu ’98, former Alumni Board member and Civil Service employee, will provide a hands-on workshop on how to use USAjobs.gov and how to build a federal resume. 

Raj Thangavelu ’98, former member of the Alumni Board and current member of theBucknell Public Interest Program (BPIP) Advisory Committee, is a longtime federal employee who works in the Washington metro area. He graduated from Bucknell with a B.A. in Politics and Economics and obtained his MPA from the University of Texas, Austin.
