Bucknell Public Interest Program (BPIP) Internship Fund

The BPIP Internship Fund provides funding for selected undergraduate students (first-year students, sophomores, and juniors), who have secured full-time, unpaid summer internships with non-profit organization and government offices. The Fund helps students to gain valuable experience in their field of study and enhances Bucknell’s strong reputation in the workforce. The stipend amount is $3,000 and the application process is competitive. The Villers Fellowship was created in 2005 by Philippe Villers, Families USA’s founder and president. The Villers Fellow will work in our health policy department, supporting the organization’s efforts to improve access to health coverage for all Americans, especially for low-income and other vulnerable constituencies. Their principle responsibility includes conducting primary and secondary research on a range of health care and health reform topics, as well as writing and contributing to publications that are relevant to current health reform issues. Congrats to the 2012 BPIP Internship Fund Recipients!

32 remarkably hardworking students are the happy recipients of a stipend that will help them gain valuable experience from a non-paid internship in the non-profit or public sectors.  The BPIP Internship stipend is funded entirely through the generous donations of alumni, parents and friends of Bucknell. Since it’s founding in 2001, the BPIP Internship Fund has assisted over 200 students in pursuing internship experiences in the public interest sector.
