This promises to be an informative session for anyone interested in how to get short stories, novels, and nonfiction published, how to start a career in the publishing world, and what it’s like to work as a woman in publishing.

Jenna Johnson publishes fiction and narrative nonfiction, with particular interest in fresh voices, overlooked stories from around the world, religion, cultural history and biography, natural history and ecology, and food.

She has published a range of award-winning and bestselling titles including The Turner House by Angela Flournoy, We the Animals by Justin Torres, and The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox by Maggie O’Farrell. Prior to joining Farrar, Straus, and Giroux, she worked at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Among her published FSG authors are Samantha Hunt (The Dark Dark), Ling Ma (Severance) and Tessa Fontaine (The Electric Woman); forthcoming include Eleanor Catton, Tavi Gevinson, Sarah Moss, and Sara Stridsberg.
