Geisinger Medical Center 7th Annual Critical Care Medicine Symposium

The Department of Critical Care Medicine at Geisinger Medical Center has graciously invited a limited number of Bucknell students to participate in their 7th Annual Critical Care Medicine Symposium on April 27th. This is a unique opportunity for  students to participate in a learning experience with varied medical professionals who care for patients in Intensive Care Units.

There are only 15 slots available for students and you must RSVP on the Bridge by this Friday – March 10th! The event includes Breakfast, Lunch and transportation for those who register.

Students will be enjoy a day of presentations on various topics, including, “The Substance Addicted Patient in the ICU” and “Management of Synthetic Designer Drugs”. Students will also have the opportunity to choose between 3 break-out sessions to join, including learning about GMC’s new Post ICU Clinic initiative , The Combative Patient/Family, or Catheter-Directed Thrombolytic Therapy.

Following the Symposium, students will be taken on a tour of Geisinger’s electronic ICU (eICU), which is located a few miles from the main Danville campus.

The cost for participation will be $10 per student, and as it is will be a full day, please consider that prior to registration. A bus will depart campus at 6:00 am, and return to campus following the eICU tour.

Following registration, please bring the $10 fee to Tess Marsh, Pre-health Coordinator in the CDC.

Dress for the event is business casual.
