CDC Intern Picks: American Enterprise Institute & Homeland Security Committee

This week’s topic for our CDC Intern picks include a couple great options for summer opportunities through companies and institutes that will be attending the DC Career Fair on February 28th.

Summer Honors Program, The American Enterprise Institute, Washington, DC

 

The program is a series of one week, fully-funded educational and professional development sessions that provide undergraduate students who are interested in public policy and politics with a unique opportunity to jumpstart their careers. Sessions include events such as policy briefings, high-level networking opportunities, and site visits in DC. Instructors this year include AEI scholars Charles Murray, Fred Kagan, John Yoo and Michael Strain teaching about everything from democratic capitalism, to the Constitution, to the Middle East, and more. Participants will earn a stipend that includes, housing, meals on class days, travel, and $250 for expenses during the week. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis so apply ASAP. Internship, Homeland Security Committee, Washington, DC 

This next program is another great opportunity for undergraduates looking to pursue a career in government and public policy. All majors are encouraged to apply for the position although should be quick-learners with strong oral and written communication skills. This internship provides students with the chance to gain a better first-hand understanding of the inner workings on Capitol Hill while assisting staff with substantive research projects, preparing for Committee hearings and markups, and handling the daily operations of the office.
