CDC Summer Networking: DC, LA, NYC – oh my!

Campus is just too quiet with you gone so we’ve decided to venture out of little old Lewisburg. We’ve got some great programs happening in 3 different cities this summer that you will not want to miss.

  • Washington, DC – June 9
    • DC Career Networking Night & Alumni Panel: Monday, June 9; 6-8:30pm; Sign up on the BRIDGE by 6/8
      Location: Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, 1779 Massachusetts Avenue Northwest
      Please join the DC Club of Washington, DC, for a career networking night with alumni, parents, and current students. The program will be a panel, “Where’s the Global Economy Taking the Jobs?” with three alumni discussing the global economy and moderated byEconomics Professor, Berhanu Nega.  The focus will be on where skilled jobs are going and why.  Panelists:

  • LA – June 18 & 19
    • Film and TV in a Digital Media World Alumni Panel: Wednesday, June 18; 6:30-9:30pm; Sign up on the BRIDGE
      Location: The Paley Center for Media, 465 North Beverly Drive, Beverly Hills, CA
      Enjoy an evening of networking and hearing from panelists about the trends in film and TV production, distribution and marketing with digital media. Panelists:

    • The Walt Disney Studios Site Visit: Thursday, June 19; 12-2:oopm; Sign up on the BRIDGE
      Location: The Walt Disney Studios, 500 South Buena Vista Street, Burbank, CA
      You are invited to an exclusive site visit and lunch for Bucknell students only at The Walt Disney Studios. Students will meet with the Executive Vice President of Pay TV and Digital at the Disney ABC Television Group, as well as other professionals within the entertainment/media career field/industry.   Dress is professional.  Detailed preparation information will be sent to registrants closer to the event date. Students are responsible for their transportation to and from the event. Sign up!
  • New York City – July 16 & 17
    • Summer Career Connections: Wednesday, July 16; 6:30-8:30pm; Sign up on the BRIDGE
      Location: Helen Mills Event Space, 137 West 26th St.
      Students are invited to come together to learn from and network with alumni and fellow students who are working or interning in the New York City area. We invite you to attend to connect with others who have similar career interests/paths as you. Light refreshments will be available. Sign up!
    • Tommy Hilfiger Corporation Site Visit: Thursday, July 17; 8:45am-1pm; Sign up on the BRIDGE
      Location: 601 W 26th St #600
      In addition to a tour of Tommy’s corporate offices, students will hear from various senior level employees at Tommy Hilfiger. Human Resources will present on best practices for applying to internships and full time positions, especially in the fashion/retail industry.  Lunch will be provided; students are responsible for their own transportation.
