Grad School Digest: MS in Accounting MBA from Northeastern University & USC Marshall School of Business

We wanted to highlight a few of the grad programs that we learned about recently:

  1. MS in Accounting MBA from Northeastern University:
Interested in a Career in Accounting & Business?  Didn’t study Accounting?  Northeastern University offers an MS in Accounting/MBA program specifically designed for non-accounting majors interested in launching a career in accounting. The MS in Accounting/MBA is a full-time, 15 month program that begins each year in late May.  Students complete a three-month paid residency from January – March at one of the partner accounting firms.  Firm representatives are impressed by the candidates that are recruited into the program as they come from competitive schools, have strong liberal arts backgrounds, and excellent academic portfolios.  Liberal Arts/non-business majors tend to have strong interpersonal and communication skills, making them valuable assets to an engagement team.  The MSA/MBA provides the technical and functional specialization that help round out the liberal arts education.  As a result, there is virtually 100% job placement upon graduation.  Northeastern University’s Graduate School of Professional Accounting is still accepting applications for the 2014-2015 program! 2. USC Marshall School of Business puts on a 4-week Summer Business Program designed to give talented non-business students an opportunity to gain essential business skills and acumen.  This program gives students:
  • A needed advantage in today’s competitive job market
  • Insight from guest speakers
  • The opportunity to visit companies exhibiting best practices in their industries
  • A USC Certificate to add to their resume and linkedin.com profile
  • 4-weeks in sunny Southern California
