Become a Bucknell Professional Network Student Leader!

Are you interested in working on campus 2-5 hours a week?
Do you enjoying networking with alumni, employers and connecting with other students?
Do you have experience with an externship, internship, coursework or professionals in a certain industry?

If you answered YES to any of these questions, apply to be a Bucknell Professional Network Student Leader by March 29th.

Position Description:
The purpose of the student piece of the Bucknell Professional Network (BPN) is to provide students a forum to interact with alumni, parents and employers for professional and networking opportunities and to learn about industries in which they can apply their education and skills.

This position is for April of Spring 2013 semester (that’s now) and all of academic year 2013-2014 (that’s next year). Write in your cover letter if abroad experience will hinder your work during any semester.

Apply on the BRIDGE  by March 29th with a resume and cover letter; list in your cover letter which network you are applying to and why.

Hiring networks include:
-Finance
-Entrepreneurial
-Consumer Products/Fashion
-Media and Technology
-Public Service

General Responsibilities
-Research information on your network industries to posting on social media/e-mail to students
-Recruit new student members with one student interest meetings a semester, social media, etc.
-Hold at least two student member meetings a semester (including interest & general member meetings)
-Include an educational component to the student meetings (networking, resume/cover letter writing, etc.)
-Update your network plan, student membership list and other BPN Google documents twice a month
-Update twice a month your networks Facebook and INvolvement pages and e-mail members monthly
-Complete some of this work in the CDC during a regularly scheduled hour once a week

Qualifications
-Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing for the Fall 2012 – Spring 2013 academic year; ANY/ALL majors may apply
-Experience in the industries the network you are working for represents
-Excellent communication skills, creativity, teamwork skills, and leadership potential
-Technologically savvy, basic administrative knowledge of social media platforms
-Accuracy and attention to detail; flexibility, independence, and initiative
-Ability to provide 2-5 hours of work per week including one regularly scheduled weekly hour in the CDC
-Interested in developing and maintaining relationships/network within a specific Industry/Profession area with alumni, parents and faculty
