Stanford Business School: Summer Institute for General Management

Over the past seven years the Summer Institute for General Management (SIGM) has provided participants the unique opportunity to explore the foundations of business with Stanford’s world-renowned GSB faculty. Students from top universities from around the world participate in the intensive four-week residential program on Stanford’s campus in the heart of Silicon Valley. Combining MBA-style classes, professional development workshops and networking opportunities with top-level companies, SIGM empowers emerging professionals as they embark upon their careers.

The SIGM curriculum is designed to meet the needs of liberal arts, science, and assumes no previous study in any business field. The coursework covers nine fundamental areas of business (Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations, Strategy, Human Resources, Marketing, and Non-Profit) with supplemental course modules in Negotiation, Ethics, Organizational Behavior, and Leadership. Participants foster strong relationships with their peers and work in teams, culminating in a final group presentation.
