I saw this in the Message Center and wanted to post it here as well: Bucknell has been invited to participate in Davis Projects for Peace, a program for all undergraduates enrolled as of fall 2010 at any of the American colleges and universities in the Davis United World College Scholars Program. I’d say that one of the only downsides to this job is learning about all the awesome opportunities out there that I am no longer eligible for. For instance: Princeton in Africa (PiAf), which offers yearlong fellowship opportunities with a variety of organizations that work across the African continent. PiAf Fellows work in service-oriented positions in many different fields, including humanitarian aid, public health, conservation, and education. Students who want to explore careers in the non-profit and government sectors have a great resource right here on campus: the Bucknell Public Interest Program (BPIP) and the BPIP Internship Fund. BPIP educates students about non-profit and public service careers, and helps students learn about how to find internships and jobs in these sectors. The BPIP Internship Fund provides financial support for undergraduate students (first-year students, sophomores, and juniors), who have secured full-time, unpaid summer internships with non-profit organization and government offices.
