We’ve got another great field trip on October 21st for you centering around sustainability. I know what you are thinking, “Tastykake and Hershey for sustainability?” But we are serious. Did you know that Tastykake is a green bakery? Tastykake took what started as an abandoned industrial site and earned it LEED Silver Certification. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and it is awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED is a rating system for green buildings. The Capitol Hill Internship Program is a competitive summer internship program that provides a stipend of $300 per week up to $3,000 for students able to secure a Capitol Hill internship provided the internship is unpaid and not for academic credit.
