Looking for great opportunities to volunteer this semester? Connect with local non-profits in the area in need of volunteers at the Community Service Fair! Over 30 non-profit organizations will be there to answer questions and talk about upcoming projects and ongoing opportunities. The event will be held Wednesday January 27 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm in the Terrace Room. BPIP! No, I did not hiccup

Students who want to explore careers in the non-profit and government sectors have a great resource right here on campus: the Bucknell Public Interest Program (BPIP) and the BPIP Internship Fund. BPIP educates students about non-profit and public service careers, and helps students learn about how to find internships and jobs in these sectors. The BPIP Internship Fund provides financial support for undergraduate students (first-year students, sophomores, and juniors), who have secured full-time, unpaid summer internships with non-profit organization and government offices. We’re still hiring, and looking for people who love to be outdoors! Hidden Valley Camp is an international summer camp for children ages 8-14, located on 350 acres in mid-coast Maine. We are looking for staff for our outdoor living/learning programs. Our outdoors programs focus on adventures, community living, leadership development and enjoying the beauty that the state of Maine (and Canada) has to offer. The Scoville Fellowship is now accepting applications for the fall 2010 semester; All materials must arrive by January 22 at 5:00 PM EST. The Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship, established in 1987, is a competitive national fellowship program that provides college graduates with the opportunity to gain a Washington perspective on key issues of peace and security. Alumni, student launch sustainable energy venture

Eclipse Solar LLC, started by Craig Dwyer ’10, Eric Diamond ’09 and Drew Willey ’09, is a result of the School of Management‘s business venture competition. Dwyer and Diamond entered the contest with an eye on the $5,000 prize, and decided on a solar energy sales and installation venture and wrote a business plan focusing on government incentives as a selling point for solar energy systems. Dwyer and Diamond placed fourth in the competition and were inspired to pursue the idea.
