For my peer pick this week, I am choosing to highlight Jeffries LLC, a global investment banking firm that has $43 billion in assets and has been nominated one of the “Best Place to Work in Global Financial Markets”, “World’s Most Admired Companies”, and “100 Best Companies to Work For”. Jeffries is headquartered in New York but has locations at more than 30 cities around the world. The firm provides clients with capital markets and financial advisory services, institutional brokerage and securities research, as well as wealth management. The firm is responsible for providing research and execution services in equity, fixed income, foreign exchange, futures and commodities markets, and investment banking services such as underwriting, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and recapitalization, and other advisory services. As an intern for Jeffries, you will get early exposure to clients and the opportunity to work alongside investment banking veterans on a spectrum of complex transactions. Jeffries also has a strong Bucknell alumni presence involved in the recruiting process with senior sponsorship from various groups. My second peer pick is for a paid fall semester internship as a Content Writer, Marketer, and Promoter for WebpageFX, Inc. in Harrisburg, PA. You will be able to train udner its world class Internet marketing team, assist them in performing research, copyrighting, data analysis, social media contents, blogger outreach, and web analytics. The {desired} candidate requirements are as follows: having a GPA above a 3.5, outstanding written communication skills, basic HTML or image editing experience (desired, not necessary), and being on a multitude of social media platforms is also desired.
