Bucknell Alumnus and former mayor of Pasadena, CA, Bill Thomson will present a short talk on the importance of civic engagement by lawyers and business leaders. Mr. Thomson has litigated a broad spectrum of complex patent and other intellectual property cases, particularly pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, and computer technology matters. An accomplished trial lawyer, he has represented major clients in jury and court trials, and before the International Trade Commission. In addition to his legal career and his work as the mayor of Pasadena, Mr. Thomson led Pasadena’s successful efforts to secure a number of major events for the Rose Bowl, including the 1984 Olympics, the 1987 and 1993 Super Bowls, and the 1994 World Cup. Mr. Thomson will also address student questions concerning law school or legal careers.
