Fall Break Projects…that don’t include raking

Thinking about getting in gear for your internship search?  If you want to get a start over the break, here are a few suggestions to get you started:

Figuring Out What You Want to Do

If you aren’t sure about your career goals and want to start figuring it out, the break can be a great time to explore your options.  One of the best resources for this is in the form of people.  Talk to family, friends and acquaintances about what they do.  You can utilize  B-Link, it’s a great tool to do informational interviewing and networking .  If you don’t have access yet – ask the CDC how you can get it.

Industry Research

The CDC has several industry specific handouts as well as some great information on the CDC website. The Vault is another excellent resource for Bucknellians to research industries as well as the employers within those industries.  Be sure to take some time to explore The Vault.

Resume Refining

Over the break, you could also work on a resume.  The CDC has handouts and samples of cover letters, resumes, and other job search tools.
