Are you interested in the financial crisis of the late 2000s? Please join Raj Thangavelu ’98 for an informative discussion on what caused the housing crash, the role of Government Sponsored Enterprises and federal regulatory responses. Additionally, proposals by the Trump administration regarding housing reform will be discussed. - Food provided – RSVP on the Bridge appreciated, walk ins welcomed. More about Raj:
Raj Thangavelu is a 1998 graduate who majored in Economics and Political Science. After finishing at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas he began working for the federal government in 2003. From 2003 to 2010 he worked as a bank examiner for the Farm Credit Administration which provides credit to people in rural America. In 2010 he began working as a Financial Database Specialist at the Federal Housing Finance Agency. The FHFA serves as the regulator of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and the Federal Home Loan Banks. He has recruited over 20 students to intern at the FHFA, serves as the chair of the BPIP internship fund committee and recently completed eight years on the Bucknell Alumni Association Board of directors.
