Schuylkill Environmental Career Online (SECO) Training Program is a free 6-session virtual course for college students and other young professionals. The online training will run over Zoom every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. from February 2, 2022 to March 9, 2022.
SECO is a career development program which orients students to the Schuylkill Watershed and environmental partners in the area. This will mark the second year of bringing our SECO program to an online platform to engage college students and other young professionals.
- Gain transferable and essential professional skills, such as resume building and cover letter writing
- Acquire and learn desirable skills and tools needed to enter the environmental career field
- Discuss emerging environmental issues
- Connect and network with peers and professionals
Upon completion of this course, participants will acquire and learn desirable skills and tools needed to enter the environmental field and gain transferable and essential professional skills to enter any career field. Each session, we will discuss a different topic, such as career options, interviewing, and resume building.
College students, recent graduates, and other young professionals are encouraged to sign up to participate. While this is environmentally centric, we encourage students with different interests to apply. Along with acquiring skills and learning about professional resources, students will receive a certificate of completion, an opportunity to network with other students and young professionals in the area, and a bag full of free SRG swag. Completion can also be noted on a resume.
